FAQ

Do you take insurance?

I work with all insurance companies as an “out-of-network” provider. This means I am able to provide highly individualized care and attention for each individual. It also allows me to protect your privacy and minimize information disclosed to third parties, such as insurance companies. As an out of network provider, I can provide documentation at the end of each session that includes all of the details insurance providers require for reimbursement.

How can I use my insurance benefits for therapy?

Many insurance plans include “out of network mental health benefits” – which means even if you see a therapist who is not on their list of in-network providers, you may receive reimbursement for session fees. If you are unsure of your out-of-network benefits, ask your insurance provider the following questions:

  • Do I have out-of-network mental health (behavioral health) benefits?
  • If so, how much or what percentage of session fees are covered?
  • Is there a session limit, deductible, or pre-authorization required?
  • What paperwork is required to submit claims for out-of-network reimbursement? (This is usually called a “superbill” or a claims form – ask where you can find their claims form)

Many people also find that apps like Reimbursify make submitting out of network claims easier and quicker.

What forms of payment do you accept?

I accept all major debit/credit cards as well as HSA/FSA as forms of payment directly through the client portal. Clients are required to provide a preferred payment method at intake, which stays on file and is used for all payments unless change/update is requested by the client. All payments are processed automatically on the date of service.

Do you offer sessions in person or online?

I offer both teletherapy (online therapy via video) and a limited number of appointment slots for in-person sessions. All teletherapy sessions will be conducted through HIPAA-compliant software that protects your confidentiality.

What is your cancellation policy?

If you need to cancel or reschedule your appointment, please make sure to do so at least 24 hours in advance. Cancellations, rescheduled, and no-showed sessions will be subject to the full session fee if not received at least 24 hours in advance.
